Many of us have the idea of going abroad after Matric or after studies. Getting away from everything you know to find a new path, a new challenge, a new destiny.
This can often be very exciting and daunting at the same time. I’ve had a few opportunities to travel and all of them have convinced me that there are better places than South Africa, but realistically, there is no chance in hell.
South Africa boasts the richest mix of cultures compared to anywhere else in the world. There is no place that can be compared to South Africa.
My point is that, we should never lose touch with our roots. We are all apart of a social revolution. We all have a part to play in coming together. Let's take advantage of our rich culture and make something of it!
Thank you for spelling lose correctly. I think you are probably one in five people who spells that correctly. well written. And thanks for attempting to bridge the gap, the lord knows the gap is growing everyday.
ReplyDeleteYes, the gap is growing but what is it that's pushing us apart. I just don't think there's enough encouragement in communities and schooling systems.

I can totally agree with you. There should be a subject in South African schools called "country appreciation". The way i see it, the next generation will be so blinded by TV images that they will forget what is outside their own window.
